‘It works’: Yuma’s fence, manpower make border nearly impenetrable
YUMA, Arizona – When Americans think of a secure border, whether they know it or not, they see Yuma, Ariz., and the 20-foot high steel curtain separating it from Mexico.
Beyond the imposing wall is 75 yards of flat, sandy, no man’s land, monitored by cameras and sensors and agents in SUVs. If an illegal immigrant successfully runs that gauntlet, they face another tightly woven steel fence and a third cyclone fence topped by barbed wire.
“It works,” said Border Patrol Agent Richard Withers. “This is the most secure area of the border. It is pretty hard for a guy to cross here. But they try.”
It wasn’t always this way. In 2005, Yuma was chaos. Pushed out of San Diego by Operation Gatekeeper in the late 1990s, drug and human smugglers targeted San Luis, a sleepy little border town just over the California state line south of Yuma. SOURCE
But the Democrats, and far too many on the GOP side of the aisle absolutely insist that a fence won’t work. Actually, they are somewhat, kinda/sorta correct in that assumption.
Fences alone won’t work, you have to have manpower to patrol the fences and to protect them as well or the fences get cut down.
In this case a fence, combined with sensors, cameras and manpower has worked out quite effectively.

Of course, they are going to *try*, it’s what invaders DO; they try to invade by ANY means possible. They will go over the fence, around it, under it or even through it if the fence and/or walls aren’t’ reinforced and protected.
Do you believe that because a jail has bars and a fence that prisoners aren’t trying, every day, to find a way to defeat the system?
OK, so we get a system that is, according to numbers presented by the Border Patrol, proven to work, albeit a small sector of Arizona, but the fact of the matter is this; it WORKS. Why don’t we have a complete, full border length security fence?
A while back I voiced an opinion regarding what I thought about border jumpers and what should happen to them AT THE BORDER, that being; met with a .50 machinegun placed about every 200 or so yards and how those .50’s needed to be used to repel these invaders, one and all, man, woman and child.
I also commented on the fact that yes, some DO manage to get by and then they make a trek across the hot, burning Arizona desert and how there were millions of dollars being spent to rescue these people before they died from the heat and thirst and how I personally don’t give a damn if they DO die in the desert. Desert critters have got to eat too you know.
Oh my God, I stirred up a firestorm with that one. I was attacked by bleeding heart Libbers, faux Conservatives and one professor in California that decided I am a despicable monster for not caring about these poor invaders that are coming to this nation and driving us into being a 3rd world, flea infested mud hole.
Now, I see this link and I have to laugh; Border fence jumpers breaking bones.
Once again; I simply don’t care if they are breaking legs, arms or backs, in all honesty I wish they would break their necks as well, thus putting an end to their efforts to invade the United States.
I am fairly certain that the bleeding heart Libtards and self-described neoconservatives, and you know who you are, will have a seizure over this post too, it’s what they do, but those having the seizures have never gone out to fight FOR this nation, they have never taken up arms to defend a home, a friend or their families and they have never witnessed, 1st hand, the squalor that these invaders are bringing with them.
In closing I say this; if the borders aren’t effectively closed and the INVADERS aren’t on the receiving end of a forced march to the Southern border as we repel the invasion, those bleeding heart SOBs may very soon have an opportunity to take up arms in defense of this nation and their families as we stand against the hordes that are bringing us down.
That, OR, they can die in the take-over.
